Refining packaging design
Feedback On packaging
- People liked the second design more, it was more eye catching and had more visual hierarchy
- The simple cluster is a good contact compared to the more complicated cluster.

Promotional ideas:
Social media contest:
Instagram and Facebook, be in to win a family pack of the new local Haupa Whenua Cookies from Ernest Adams. Tag two friends and tell us which iconic New Zealand location you would share some fresh cookies with them. A promoted social media contest will allow the younger demographic and individuals who use social platforms to gain an understanding of the new product. It is also an interactive way for them to get involved in the fun and develop more of an interest in the company and product.

In-store (supermarket) promotion:
Placement of promotional shelve on the floor to eye-level height outside where Ernest Adams is normally merchandised. This helps to attract new consumers and also stand out from the rest. In-store promotions where the product is retailed is a more traditional approach for a form of promotion as it is an easy process for an older demographic to get involved and gain an understanding of the new product. This is also a more personal form of promotion which will be more in demand for this demographic, the taste and remembrance of the name “Ernest Adams” will allow a strong nostalgic connection for the older demographic as they are familiar with the company.

Tote bag:
As climate change has created strong movements and macro trends in the way we buy and sell, the promotional idea of designing a tote bag with the new ranges logo and features would be highly promotional and strongly recognised. It will be beneficial in the way that consumers will see the new range promoted through users in store seeing the brand, then seeing and being able to recognise the brand as a product on the shelves. This is a good way to hit our target audience in the way that they are ethically conscious consumers and use reusable bags instead of plastic single-use ones. The concept could be if you buy a reusable Haupa Whenua bag - there are mini samples of each of the 5 flavours already in the bag.
